The Texas Department of Transportation announced on Tuesday that repairs and maintenance of a section of State Highway 9 will begin on Monday, March 19.
The location is the overpass and connector just north of the Business 190 and U.S. 190 split, said Kenneth Roberts, with TxDOT.
“The work will consist of removing and replacing unsuitable material as well as addressing the embankment issue at each end of the bridge,” Roberts said.
TTG Utilities, LP, of Gatesville is undertaking the project, which will cost just over $650,000.
Completion is projected by midsummer of 2018, weather permitting.
Motorists can expect to encounter, flaggers and temporary delays within the work area, Monday thru Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., for the duration of the project.
This particular section of road has been restricted to a single lane and will remain so until the project is completed.
TxDOT cautions motorists to be alert for construction personnel and equipment in the work areas, Roberts added.
