A public meeting will be held on Thursday, January 18 from 6-8 p.m. at the City of Copperas Cove’s Technology Center, located at 508 S. 2nd St.
The meeting has been called by directors of the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport, who are seeking the public’s input as a master plan is developed for the airport.
Meetings are also set to take place in Killeen and Harker Heights, with the meeting in Killeen set for Wednesday, January 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Killeen Utility Collection conference room, and the meeting in Harker Heights also set for Thursday in Room C at the Harker Heights Activities Center.
The City of Killeen is developing an Airport Master Plan with the assistance of a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration.
As part of the process, central Texas citizens, airport tenants, and neighboring businesses will have an opportunity to learn more and provide their comments toward the future development of the airport.
According to a press release issued by the City of Killeen, when complete, the airport master plan will provide a guide for airport development over the next 20 years. It will detail short-, mid- and long-range goals and financial plans to achieve them.
“Public participation is essential to plan development. The airport is a regional asset, so it is important that input be received from residents in Killeen and surrounding cities to create a sustainable and attainable plan for its future.”
