Lemonade Day set for Saturday, Sunday

Copperas Cove youth are putting their entrepreneur skills to the test by opening up their own lemonade stands as part of Lemonade Day this Saturday and Sunday.
The entrepreneurs will be learning business skills, responsibility, financial literacy, goal setting and teamwork through this endeavor.
Lemonade Day encourages kids to “spend some, save some and share some” of their earnings, spending a portion on themselves, saving a portion and donating a portion to a charity or non-profit close to them.
Lemonade Day was started in 2007 in Houston and has served 1 million children across North America since its inception, according to the Lemonade Day website.
Many of the lemonade stands will also feature food items and other treats. Some of the stands will be set up in front of their homes while others will set up in front of local businesses. Local participants of this weekend’s Lemonade Day have posted their lemonade stand locations and menus on an interactive map found on the Fort Hood Area Lemonade Day website found at https://lemonadeday.org/fort-hood-area/stands-map.
The Copperas Cove Leader-Press is sponsoring Dalton Stafford’s lemonade stand this weekend. The Leader-Press is located at 2210 E. Business 190, Suite 1, and Dalton will have his lemonade stand set up in the parking lot.
Each paying customer will receive a subscription to the Copperas Cove Leader-Press and have their name entered in a drawing to receive a prize package containing tickets to Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels.
Dalton has been a fan of Lemonade Day for several years, but this is his first year making the foray into being a young entrepreneur.
