Judge Prugh passes away at age 94

Walter Leon Prugh passed away Monday inside Scott and White Hospital in Temple, less than a month after his 94th birthday and two weeks after suffering a stroke and heart attack on his Kempner ranch. Prugh was born on an Indian reservation in South Dakota, where his father, Harold worked as a ranch foreman and his mother, Emma a cook. He went to high school in Nebraska, and was a small business owner when World War II broke out and he was drafted at age 23.
