KCCB teaches summer readers importance of recycling with pizza.

Yard waste, glass and wood chips replaced pepperoni, sausage and cheese toppings of two dozen pizzas made at the Copperas Cove Public Library during the garbage pizza program put on by volunteers from Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful. Teaching the group “Don’t Mess With Texas” Silvia Rhoads, director of KCCB, talked trash with the 30 children age 5-11 who attended the weekly Summer Reading Program, sharing the difference in a landfill and a transfer station that she oversees in the city.
