Exchange Club of Copperas Cove to host evening of food samplings, chili cookoff

Ticket sales for the inaugural Cravings of Cove, an evening of food samples from local eateries, are going on now.

Cravings of Cove is set for Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Civic Center. Tickets are $10 for ages 14 and up, and $5 for ages 5-13.

A number of local restaurants and also businesses who provide catering options will have samples from their menus for ticketholders to taste and enjoy.

In addition to samples and menus, the evening will feature a chili cook-off between the Copperas Cove Fire Department and Copperas Cove Police Department, with attendees to vote on the winner.

Tickets are on sale now for the come-and-go event, and can be obtained from any Morning Exchange Club member, as well as the front office at CCISD Administration, located at 408 S. Main St.

Tickets will also be available at the door that evening.

Local restaurants and eateries committed to attend as of press time include Yong’s Oriental Market & Korean Grill, San Miguel’s Mexican Restaurant, Monty’s, Big Dog BBQ, Black Meg 43, Unique Taste Hawaiian Style, Sticky Fingas BBQ, Giovanni’s, Toa’s Hawaiian Grill, Creative Cakes & Snacks, Waffle Cone, Lil Tex, Hot Wok, as well as Raising Cane’s, Cinergy Cinemas, Chick-fil-A, Subway, H-E-B, Walmart, Jack Hillard Distributors, and Gatti’s Pizza.

The club’s event is to raise funds for a number of area organizations that help local children, families, the homeless, and the elderly.

The Exchange Club of Copperas Cove, also known as the “Morning” Exchange Club, donates to groups including the following: Blue Santa, Exchange Sunshine Home, Cove House Emergency Homeless Shelter, Project Graduation, the Coryell County Rainbow Room, My Brother’s House Food Pantry, Operation Stand Down Central Texas, Armor of God Radio, and Ride for A Child.
