Early voting starts Monday, June 3 for June 15 runoff election

Early voting for the runoff election for Copperas Cove city council Place 5 beings on Monday, June 3.

Early voting days and hours are June 3-7 and June 10-11, with polls open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Voting Center, located at 508 B Cove Terrace Shopping Center.

Election day voting will also be at the Copperas Cove Voting Center, with polls open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., on Saturday, June 15.

The runoff election is between the May 4 election’s top two vote-getters, Dale Treadway and Timothy Traeger.

Treadway received 31.73 percent, or 568 votes, and Traeger received 28.48 percent, or 491 votes.

According to Copperas Cove city charter, a winning candidate must receive a minimum of 50 percent-plus one of the votes.

The term of office for Place 5 expires in November 2025.
