District 59 candidate has meeting in Cove

Stephenville-area auctioneer and land broker Brent Graves paid a visit to Copperas Cove on Saturday afternoon.

 

Graves has filed to run in the March 1 primary against incumbent Dr. J.D. Sheffield (R-Gatesvillle) for the Texas House of Representatives for District 59. Graves had announced his intention to run this spring after a speech by Sheffield on the floor of the Texas House in favor of keeping certain late-term abortions legal, when an amendment by a fellow Republicans would have banned late-term abortions entirely.
