CTC offering adult water aerobics this summer

Special to the Leader-Press

The Central Texas College (CTC) Continuing Education department is offering water aerobics classes for adults age 50-plus. The class uses easy-to-follow exercise routines to improve cardiovascular conditioning and offers others benefits including improved body toning, flexibility and muscular endurance. Classes will be held in the natatorium of the CTC Physical Education Center on the Killeen campus.

Instructor Judy Mills noted the class is a total body workout for all abilities.

“You can expect easy-to-follow exercise routines – all in the pool – that offer cardiovascular conditioning and will improve body toning, flexibility and muscle endurance,” she said. “We begin with a warm-up, 30 minutes of cardio, resistance and strength building. We follow that with balancing exercises and end with a stretch and cool-down.”

Classes start June 13 and will be held every Tuesday through July 25 from 10-11 a.m. A Thursday class begins June 15, from 10-11 a.m., and runs through July 20. Starting June 16, a class will be held from 9-10 a.m. each Friday through July 21. Each class is $29.

The next set of classes starts August 1 and will be held each Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. through September 5. Thursday classes are August 3 - September 7 from 10-11 a.m. and Friday classes are 9-10 a.m., August 4 - September 8. The cost for each class is also $29.
