A 30-year-old Copperas Cove man will spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty to murder charges, including two counts of capital murder of a victim under 10 years of age.

Bryan Richardson II had a plea hearing in Coryell County District Court on March 21, according to the court docket.

He will be formally sentenced to life without parole on April 17, according to Coryell County District Attorney Dusty Boyd.

Richardson was arrested in December 2020 for the murder of his wife and two children at their Fairbanks Street home in Copperas Cove.

Since his arrest, Richardson has remained in the Coryell County Jail on more than $3,000,000 in bonds.

Richardson’s brother-in-law had called Copperas Cove police after he had been trying unsuccessfully to reach his sister and her husband.

After police arrived at the house, they found Richardson covered in blood, on his bed. The bodies of his wife and two children were with him on the bed.

At the time of his arrest, Richardson was read his rights and declined to answer any questions.

A Mental Illness/Intellectual Disability screening at the time of his booking was completed. One of the questions asked if the subject was extremely worried about losing their job, position, spouse, or custody of their children due to arrest. Richardson’s response was that he “already lost all of these.”
