Copperas Cove City pools to open for Memorial Day weekend, then temporarily close

The Copperas Cove City Park Pool and South Park Pool will open for the summer season on Saturday, May 24.

Memorial Day Weekend, pool hours will be 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Memorial Day.

After Monday, May 26, the city’s pools will be temporarily closed Due to the upcoming WCID Project, in which mandatory Stage 4 water conservation will be enacted from May 27-May 30. Both pools will reopen on May 31.

City Park Pool regular hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. For the regular summer schedule, City Park pool will be closed on Mondays for maintenance.

City Park Pool will also host a Family Swim Night on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

South Park Pool will be open daily except for Tuesday, when it will be closed for maintenance. Open swim hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from noon until 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Daily admission for residents ages 3-49 is $4. Residential fee is for those who reside in Copperas Cove, Kempner or Fort Cavazos. Non-residents pay $6. Must show proof with photo ID. Seniors (age 50-64) have a discounted admission price of $2.50 for residents and non-residents. Seniors age 65 and over are admitted free. Pool admission is also free for children under age 2.

Cash is the only form of payment accepted for both pools at the gates.

Parks & Recreation also offers season passes. Family passes for four are available for residents for $115 or $165 for non-residents, with $10 for each additional family member. An individual pass is $50 for residents and $70 for non-residents. A pass for senior citizens age 50-64 is $35.

Passes can be purchased at the Parks & Recreation office, located at the Copperas Cove Civic Center, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Water Fitness lessons and Senior Swim will be held at South Park Pool.

Water Fitness will be taught by Sweat at Cove Fitness. Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:15 a.m., Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. The cost is $45 for a punch card for 10 classes, or $5 per class.

Senior Swim is lap swimming from 10 a.m. until noon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The cost is $2.50 per session or $50 for a season pass.

Swim lessons are held at City Park Pool for $62 per swimmer. Available sessions include June 2-13, June 16-27, June 30-July 11, July 14-25 and July 28-Aug. 8. Each class is 45 minutes and has a max of eight swimmers in each of five levels, from Introduction to Water Skills, all the way to category. Each level is offered at the three different times listed below.  All swim lessons will be held at City Park Pool.

Registration for swim lessons is open now. All swim lessons will be held at the City Park Pool. Time slots are 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The city’s pools are available for private pool parties on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at City Park, and 6-8 p.m. at South Park pool. Pool rental fee is $135 for two hours, plus a lifeguard fee of $15 per hour per two guards. Dates are reserved with a $75 refundable deposit.
