The Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Bureau will be moving to a new location this summer – downtown Copperas Cove.

Chamber President CEO Beth Galick-Carney made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon at the quarterly entities summit, which is a meeting of the City of Copperas Cove administration, Copperas Cove ISD, Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation, Coryell County, along with the chamber.

The new location will be 109 E. Avenue D, a few steps down from the Cove Theater.

“We’re happy to be moving downtown for a couple reasons. We want to be a major part of downtown revitalization, so we want to all the businesses and business owners down there to know that we are in it,” Galick-Carney said. “We would love to see the downtown area eventually turn into a small tourist attraction for Copperas Cove with unique types of businesses.

“It’s already starting to happen with the businesses that have opened downtown. We do hope to maybe be the ones that lead a new Downtown Association, since we’ll be down there.”

She said the chamber has also formed a Chamber of Commerce Foundation, a 501c3 that she said plans to apply for egrants so they can start a regular, official, certified business class program out of the existing chamber building.

“Another thing that we’ve noticed, and we’ve had a lot of phone calls about it, is there’s not a lot of meeting space available in Copperas Cove. We are hoping to also offer the business class space for any business that needs a meeting, any anyone that needs a space to meet,” she added. “We know the library is a great space, but that’s why it’s always booked.”

She said that there will be minor “un-renovations” to the existing chamber offices, to remove the wall that had been installed for her office space. Once the space is opened back up, there will be a classroom with seating for approximately 30. ut, but that classroom will seat about 30 people,” she said.

Galick-Carney said they will be moving operations within the next month or so.
