Cloud Real Estate and both the Copperas Cove and Greater Killeen Chambers of Commerce celebrated the recent opening of Cloud Real Estate’s new Copperas Cove location with a ribbon cutting ceremony held Friday morning.

Cloud Real Estate has been in Central Texas since 1908 and has been owned and operated by members of the Cloud family for four generations, with Deborah Beene currently working with her parents, Allen and Virginia Cloud, and a team of real estate professionals to serve Killeen, Harker Heights, Belton and Copperas Cove.

Cloud Real Estate once had a location in Cove but left in 1983 to consolidate into one building on W.S. Young Drive in Killeen.

Beene, whose husband is Dr. Logan Beene, owner of Crossroads Veterinary Hospital on F.M. 116, said she had always planned to bring Cloud Real Estate back to Cove. It wasn’t until months after she and her husband had purchased the building next to Soggy Doggies, LLC, which had a suite that did not get rented after the previous tenant moved out, that she finally decided to make the move.

“Copperas Cove- the numbers are great over here,” Beene said. “The people are all wonderful, and my husband has always told me the further west you go, the nicer the people are. I truly believe that, and you all have proven that today.”

Beene added that Killeen has been a blessing to Cloud Real Estate and Cove a blessing to her family.

Members from both Copperas Cove and the Greater Killeen’s Chambers of Commerce as well as Mayor Frank Seffrood, city council member James Pierce, Jr. and the “Voice of the Bulldawgs” Joe Lombardi attended the ribbon cutting-ceremony, as well as other Cove residents. Beene cut ribbons from both Chambers with the help of her youngest daughter, Katie Beene, 9, and was presented with the location’s first dollar in a frame and a banner welcoming them to the community from the Cove Chamber of Commerce and a gift bag from the Killeen Chamber of Commerce.

Beene said that she was excited for the new location, adding that due to her husband’s business, she had heard him talk about Cove a lot.

“We were still doing business here in Cove a lot, we just didn’t have a Cove location, so I’m excited,” Beene said. “We’ve been servicing it, we’ve had a lot of rentals over here and we’ve done some sales, and so it feels good that we’re not asking those people to come to us in Killeen. I feel like we’re better equipped to service those people and not having to ask them to go out of their way.”

Beene said the big turnout to the ribbon cutting ceremony made her feel welcomed and as if Cove was ready for Cloud Real Estate.

Beene also invited everybody to attend the upcoming celebration of Cloud Real Estate’s 110th anniversary, which will be held at the Central Texas Homebuilders’ Association at 445 E. Central Texas Expy, Harker Heights on August 23, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The first ever land sale done by her great-great-grandfather, T.C. Cloud, was on August 22, 1908, Beene said.

The new Cove location is located at 307 W. Business 190 and is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Their phone number is (254) 547-3311.
