City sees increase in sales tax from 2013

The sales tax numbers for August 2014 are in, and the city of Copperas Cove’s tax rebate for the month is $318,505.67, up from $300,192.24 from August 2013, a 6.1 percent increase from last year, according to the report released from the office of state comptroller Susan Combs. Overall for the city, sales tax rebates have inched ahead 1.89 percent for 2014 at $3,094,720.73 compared to 2013 at $3,094,720.73. Gatesville’s rebate amount is $149,403.23, up 11.92 percent from last August’s amount of $133,481.53, and overall up 6.33 percent from 2013. The total for Coryell County is $468,395.96, up 7.89 percent from the August 2013 amount of $434,131.65. Overall Coryell County is up 3.22 percent for its sales tax rebates compared to 2013.
