City Park pool opens this weekend

With the end of school in sight and for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend, City Park Pool will be open tomorrow and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., and on Memorial Day from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., then will reopen on June 2 with regular hours to follow. 
City Park pool’s regular hours for open swim times will be Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., and closed on Mondays. Family swim nights will be every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
South Park pool, located at 2606 Dennis St. will have open swim from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except for Tuesdays when the pool will be closed.
Open swim admission rates are: Children under 2, no charge; residents 2-49 years $3.25, non-residents $5.25; senior citizens 50-64, $2.25; senior citizens 65+ no charge. Payments for admission and concessions at both pools are cash only. 
Summer swim passes are available for purchase for individuals and families. All admissions, passes, and class fees include a restoration fee, the funds from which will be dedicated to future parks improvements. 
New for 2018, C&H Hawaiian Grill will have concession stands open at both pools, from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at City Park pool and from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at South Park pool. Outside food and drinks are not permitted inside the pool area.
Movie buffs should mark their calendars for the return of Dive-In Movie nights at City Park pool. Movie dates include June 26 for The Little Mermaid and July 16 for Coco. Special admission prices for those pool nights are $3.25 per person with the pools open at 7:30 p.m. and the movies starting at sunset. 
Along with its open swim times, South Park is the location of various aqua fitness classes to include Aqua Zumba, water aerobics, and aqua Tabata. Aqua fitness classes are $3 each, with punch cards available at $27 for 10 classes. 
Aqua Zumba is set for Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. led by Christine, and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. led by instructor Jeannette Valentine. This year, Valentine is also offering water Tabata, a high-intensity interval workout in the water, but a workout that’s easy on the joints. Water Tabata classes will have both morning and evening session during the week.
South Park pool water aerobics sessions are Monday and Wednesday mornings 8:30 a.m., Thursdays at 9:30 a.m., and Thursday and Fridays at 6 p.m.
All water fitness classes begin the week of June 4.
City Park pool is also available for rent for private parties on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The rental rate for 50 guests for two hours is $105.25, not including lifeguard fee and deposit. 
Registration is ongoing at this time for swimming lessons, to be held at City Park pool every week through August 9, with morning and evening class times.
