Just a couple doors down from the Cove Theater, The Armament Shop has opened for business as a full-service gun store.

The Armament Shop sells guns, ammunition, accessories and silencers.

They also offer repairs and customizations on all firearm makes and models, including custom Cerakote firearm refinishing and frame stippling. The Armament Shop also offers firearms training and the Texas License to Carry Course.

Owner Jason Stevens served in the United States Army for 20 years, and he said that when he got out of the service, it just made sense to open The Armament Shop and continue doing what he had experience doing in the Army.

He first opened a location in Belton nearly five years ago and recently moved his business to downtown Copperas Cove.

“I got good at gunsmithing in the Army, so it made sense to me to continue that trade after I retired from service,” Stevens said. “I have a passion for the shooting sports, and building custom firearms for competition is something that’s very rewarding and fulfilling as a career choice.”

On Tuesday, Stevens held a VIP Night or what he calls a Customer Appreciation Night for new and existing customers, at the Copperas Cove location from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“This is my opportunity to give thanks to my Belton customers for all of their support in the past and an opportunity to introduce The Armament Shop to the Copperas Cove community,” Stevens said.

The Armament Shop is located at 115 W. Avenue D, Suite A, in Copperas Cove.

“This new location has three times the amount of space, better parking, and it’s closer to my home, so my shop hours will be better for my customers,” Stevens said. “I’ve lived in Copperas Cove for a couple of years now, and there’s no place anywhere else I would rather live and work.”

The regular hours of operation for the Armament Shop are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For personalized firearms instruction, lessons start at $79.99 for four hours. There are also plans in the works to offer in-shop classes and workshops.

The Armament Shop has a Facebook page: www.facebook.com/armamentshop and a website: www.armamentshop.com. The shop’s phone number is 443-567-2629, and Stevens’ email is thearmamentshop@gmail.com.
