The 8th grade Lady Pups from Copperas Cove Junior High ended their season at Temple Lamar last Tuesday evening, looking for redemption after the prior week’s loss, and they earned it.
Kaiya Evans took the ball down the field to put the Lady Pups on the board right from the start. Evans would come back to score two more goals earning a hat trick on the night.
Anali Ariola scored her first two goals ever, with Jenna Chlarson scoring one goal. Then Emma Durcan recorded her first goal of the season, followed by Erinn Sewell earning her first-ever hat trick.
The Lady Pups walked away with a 10-0 win for the night, with every girl on the team having key plays on the night, said coach Brittany Combs.
“Our ball handling was the best it’s been all season,” she said.
The 8th grade Lady Pups took 4th place in district with a record of 4-2.
The 7th grade tied for 2nd place in district with a record of 2-1.
“Zigler and I are so proud of these girls,” Combs added.
