Lady Dawgs win at Joshua; Bulldawgs 4th at Midway

The Lady Dawgs scored 130 points to win the 2018 Joshua Relays on Friday at Owl Stadium in Joshua.
All three relays finished on the podium, including a first-place finish by the 4x200-meter relay team of Anayah Copeland, Ashli Hawkins, Livonna Wallace and Nadia Robinson. The foursome took the top spot with a time of 1 minute, 48.30 seconds in front of North Richland Hills Birdville (1:50.55). Robinson also finished third in the 100m dash with a time of 12.72 seconds.
Norvana Crook joined Hawkins, Robinson and Wallace for a second-place finish in the 4x100m relay with a time of 50.58 seconds. Crook also earned a bronze in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet-4 ½ inches.
Copeland also added a second-place finish in the 4x400m relay, along with teammates Jalyn Ayala, Madisen Honea and Danielle Diaz. They claimed the silver with a time of 4:20.11. Copeland also finished second in the 400m dash with her time of 1:02.04. Honea also brought home a pair of individual bronze medals with her third-place finish in the 300m hurdles (52.13 seconds) and the 800m run (2:40.97).
Junior Aidan Chace brought home gold in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 4 inches. 
Also finishing on the podium were Tiana Barker (2nd 100m hurdles – 17.8 seconds), Megan Dudgeon (3rd shot put – 31 feet-1 inch) and Sha’kiya Williams (3rd 200m dash – 27.33 seconds).
The junior varsity girls also won at Joshua with 202.50 points. The 4x200m relay team of She’Kailah Davis, Jasmine Davis, Micah Anderson and Olivea Nageeullah won with a time of 1:54.83 and the foursome of Destine Spruill, Lacy Wheat, Jaciera Glass-Fraser and Alaura Gallups won the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:48.14.
A 1-2 finish in the high jump by Jasmine Davis (4-10) and Wheat (4-08) and 1-2-3 finishes in the 100m dash and the shot put contributed to the win. Anderson won the 100m dash with a time of 13.31 followed by Fanya Corbin (13.48) and N’Kya Smith (13.71). Alisha Donattien won the shot put with a throw of 30-08 followed by Hope Chapman (28-11.50) and Deja Chapman (28-00).
Belton won the Waco Midway meet with 154 points followed by Temple 142, Midway 112.5, and Copperas Cove 95.5. Also competing were Round Rock McNeil, Waco University, Austin Royals, Austin Hill Country and Meridian.
Senior Daveon Thomas and junior Kyle Stifflemire led the way with gold medal finishes.
Thomas won the discus with a throw of 160-feet and finished second in the shot put with a throw of 46-feet-4. Stifflemire cleared the 15 feet-3 inch mark to win the pole vault.
Micah Hawkes also finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 44-feet-8.
Neyland Block earned a spot on the podium with a silver medal in the high jump with a 6-2 leap and AJ Acosta earned silver in the 200m dash with a time of 22.5 seconds.
