Lady Dawgs finish 3rd at Bush’s Classic tourney

The Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs Basketball team finished third in their host tournament behind District 12-6A rivals Ellison and 4A powerhouse La Vega.

 

The Lady Dawgs opened the tournament with a close loss to Odessa’s New Way Christian Academy. Junior Chyanne Chapman’s double-double led the way for Cove with 14 points and 13 rebounds in the 65-62 loss. Seniors Kacie Gatewood and Twillesa Shipman chipped in 13 and 12 points, respectively.
