Hopkins-Phelps’, Red Team’s rally come up one play short

WACO – Copperas Cove senior Davonn Hopkins-Phelps has provided production throughout the backfield of the Bulldawg offense, but on Saturday the senior had his chance to shine under center. Hopkins-Phelps usually played fullback or tight end but, on Saturday night for the final high school game of his career, Hopkins-Phelps quarterbacked the Red Team to a furious comeback that came up one play short of victory at the annual Super Centex Fellowship of Christian Athletes Victory Bowl at Waco ISD Stadium.
