AUSTIN – It was a disappointing conclusion to the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs’ run at a second-consecutive trip to the Texas State 7 on 7 Tournament in College Station.Despite falling to eventual champion, Austin Bowie, in their final pool game Saturday at the Austin Westlake State Qualifying Tournament, Cove’s soon-to-be senior cornerback Shamad Lomax likes the direction the team is heading and he says the extra 7 on 7 action has only made them better for the fall. “Today, we came out a little sluggish, but it happens,” said Lomax. “I feel like we did a great job, we just didn’t come out strong.
