Dawg Soccer rallies to down Belton 2-1

The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs kept themselves in the District 12-6A playoff chase with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over the Belton Tigers Tuesday night at Bulldawg Stadium and the Lady Dawgs still sit in second despite a loss to the undefeated Belton Lady Tigers.
Trailing 1-0 at the halftime break, the Bulldawgs rallied with a goal on a header by Ryan Hicks on the assist by Justin Crook that tied the game at 1-all before a solo goal by Gabriel Davis with 17 seconds remaining earned the win for the Bulldawgs and moved them into the hunt for one of the four playoff spots coming from 12-6A.
Belton’s Kyle Rimberg scored Belton’s first-half goal.
The Bulldawgs moved to 3-3-2 (13 pts) with a 2-1 win over Ellison on Friday before earning three points with the win over Belton to move to 4-3-2 (16 pts) and just one point behind second place Belton 5-3-1 and Bryan 4-1-4. 
The Bulldawgs host Bryan tonight at Bulldawgs Stadium with a 7:30 start.
Despite an 8-0 loss to undefeated Belton and a Harker Heights win over Ellison on Tuesday, the Lady Dawgs sit in third place just two points behind the Lady Knights.
The Lady Dawgs travel to Bryan tonight to face the Lady Vikings currently sitting in fourth place at 5-3-1 (16 pts).
