Cove players storm Hurricane Junior Tour

BROWNWOOD - Copperas Cove seventh-grader Elle Fox found herself in a familiar place over the weekend – first place.
After sweeping the UIL competition with individual and team wins with a firstplace in both at the District tournament in Temple last week, the Copperas Cove Junior High student again showed nerves of steel as she bested a field of 15 girls in the 14-18 age group to win in the Hurricane Junior Tour Central Texas Junior Shootout at The Hideout Golf Club and Resort in Brownwood.
Fox shot an 11-over-par two-day total of 155 (77-78) to finish in the top spot by three strokes in front of fellow young phenom Ryann Honea (Class of 2022) of San Angelo. Honea shot a 158 (178-80) for second place.
