The Bulldawgs boys soccer team managed just one goal in their match against the Bryan Vikings on Friday afternoon at Bulldawgs Stadium, but one goal is all they would need as goalkeeper Ayden Seymour and the rest of the Bulldawgs’ defense held the Vikings scoreless in the 1-0 win.
After battling to a scoreless tie at halftime, it didn’t take the Bulldawgs long to get on the board in the second half as junior Gabriel Davis received a cross from junior Saymon Taylor and punched it in with just 2:03 off the clock in the second half.
The win moved Copperas Cove 5-3-2 (19 points) into the fourth spot and pushed Bryan 4-2-4 (17) out of the top four.
A 4-0 win by Killeen 6-3-1 (20 pts) over Harker Heights 3-7-0 (9 pts) and a 3-0 win by Belton 6-3-1 (20 pts) over Ellison 1-6-3 (7 pts) created a second-place tie between the Kangaroos and Tigers and prevented the Bulldawgs from moving any higher in the standings. Temple 8-1-1 (25 pts) still holds on to the top spot in District 12-6A.

Lady Dawgs fall 3-4 in Bryan
Despite two goals by sophomore Emily Poste and another by sophomore Emma Ross, the Lady Dawgs soccer team could not overcome the early 3-1 lead by the Lady Vikings.
Two first-half goals by Bryan’s Alexa Garcia helped the Lady Vikings take the 3-1 lead and she completed the hat trick with the go-ahead goal in the  second half to secure the 4-3 win.
The Lady Vikings sit in third place at (6-3-1, 19 pts) while the Lady Dawgs sit just one point back in fourth place at (5-3-2, 18 pts).
The Lady Dawgs host Shoemaker 1-9-0 (3) tonight while Bryan travels to first-place Belton (10-0-0, 30 pts), who has already clinched a playoff spot with four games remaining in the regular season.
