‘Dawgs start 12-6A with cross-town rivalry

The newly formed Copperas Cove offense will have a lot to contend with in a very active defense when the Killeen Kangaroos come to town tonight for homecoming. The Cove offense, that has had three starting quarterbacks in as many weeks, will have their work cut out for them this week. “For us to win right now, we’ve had to battle and we’ve had to make changes,” said Copperas Cove head coach Jack Welch. “That has all been good for us. It’s gotten us to the point where we are right now. We’re not 100 percent where we need to be, but we’re playing hard and we’re playing relentless and that’s what we’re going to have to do this Friday.”
