The Copperas Cove Police Department has announced its Christmas In Cove itinerary for Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Santa is scheduled to arrive at 5:30 p.m, and departure is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The next stop will be East Side Baptist Church, located at 1202 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.
Estimated arrival is 6:15 and departure is 6:45 p.m.
The final stop will be at North Point Church parking lot, located at 1115 North Main St. with an estimated arrival time of 7 p.m. and departure of 7:30 p.m.
Lt. Krystal Baker has spearheaded the year-round venture of collecting donations and toys that are distributed by the department. Businesses and organizations have collected toys, and even children have donated to the cause.
“This year, the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce and Cinergy Cinema helped by placing donation boxes in their lobbies. Copperas Cove Walmart allowed us to host a Stuff the Cruiser event, which was extremely successful, and also donated a generous amount of toys directly to the program,” said Lt. Baker. “We are very thankful for the partnerships we have built with these organizations. The Optimist Club also donated toys this year, and many citizens have contributed through the donation box in our police department lobby. We also teamed up with the Cove Athletics volleyball girls, who raised a large number of toys for the program as well.
“Christmas in Cove is now a two-part program. It did not originally start that way, but over time it has grown significantly due to the generosity of our community. What began as officers driving around town handing out candy canes has expanded into something much bigger. Because of the support we receive, we are now also able to assist many Copperas Cove families who are struggling to provide Christmas gifts for their children.”
