Ruby Alice (Becker) Krause, 96, went to be with her Lord on April 29, 2017.  She was born on February 24, 1921 in Thorndale, Texas to George and Frieda Becker.  She was one of nine children born to George and Frieda.
Ruby was baptized on March 27, 1921 and confirmed on April 14, 1935 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale.  Shortly after confirmation at the age of 14, she and her sister Helen moved to Austin to work as nannies and housekeepers to help support younger brothers and sisters at home.
Ruby married Enno Krause of Copperas Cove, Texas on February 20, 1941.  They lived in Copperas Cove all of their married life and were faithful members of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where Ruby served as Sunday school teacher and Altar Guild Member for many years.  She made the altar paraments still in use at Immanuel.
Ruby was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker.  She loved sewing, gardening, and cooking.  She took pleasure in giving away her garden produce and making her homemade noodles and lemon pies for family and church potlucks.  In later years, Ruby worked at the K & K Meat Plant and served as a cook for the Copperas Cove elementary schools.  In 2009, she moved to Dallas, Texas to be with her daughter Joan where she lived until her death.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Enno, brothers James Becker, Curtis Becker, Gilbert Becker and Erwin Becker and sisters Helen Boatright and Bernice Weise.
Ruby is survived by her daughter Joan Krause of Dallas, Texas, brother Roy Becker of Rockdale, Texas, sister Ila Mae Jansky of Taylor, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Copperas Cove, Texas.
