Kelly L. Smith, 51, of Copperas Cove passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Lampasas. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 4-6 PM at Scott’s Funeral Home. A private service will follow on Monday. Kelly was born on April 10, 1963 at Ft. Hood, TX to William and Joanne Dupree King. She graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1981 and later attended Central Texas College. Kelly orked for the Copperas Cove Police Department for 12 years before working for Coryell County Community Service. Kelly enjoyed that job for 22 years before she became ill. On December 25, 1988 she married James Smith in Killeen. Kelly is preceded in death by her father, William A.C. King; son, Justin Smith. Kelly is survived by her husband, James Smith; son, Kris Smith and wife Katelynn; daughter, Kelsey Smith; brothers, Bill A. King, Rusty King and one grandson, Anthony Scott Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to New Century Hospice, 451 E. Central Texas Expy., Suite C, Harker Heights, TX 76548. Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove is in charge of arrangements.
