A memorial service celebrating the life of Retired MSG Edward James Carter will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Hillside Ministries at 2602 S. FM 116 in Copperas Cove, with Rev. Angel Valencia officiating. Edward retired both from the United States Army and the United States Civil Service at Fort Hood, TX. Edward was born on November 17, 1940 in Pineville, LA., to Jeff and Minerva Salard Carter and passed away on July 28, 2013 in Temple, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Albert Carter. Edward is survived by his loving wife Hildegard of 50 years, and daughter, Frances Guillot and husband Raymond, stepdaughter, Monika McMullen and husband Lloyd, and grandchildren, Virginia Ragan, Heather Wells, Edward McMullen all of Copperas Cove, and granddaughter Ashley Guillot of Fifth Ward, LA., and sister, Jean Forbes and husband John of Temple, Texas and brother, William Carter and wife Sharon of Gloster, LA., and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
