Annie Mae Taylor, age 96 of Copperas Cove, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 at Kempner Oak Hills Baptist Church, with Bro. Dwayne Smith and Dr. James Spurgeon officiating.  Burial will follow at Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct 2nd at the funeral home.
Annie Mae was born on Sept. 14, 1921 in Copperas Cove to the late Thomas E. and Ida Kattner Mangrem.  She grew up in Copperas Cove and graduated from Copperas Cove High School.  She married Floyd A. Taylor of Kempner on Feb. 11, 1938.  She chose the highest profession in the world, a housewife and mother.  She loved to sew and for most of her adult life sewed for the public out of her home. She was a devoted Christian for 85 years and helped establish Robertson Avenue Baptist Church and Kempner Oak Hills Baptist Church where she was a charter member.  Until her failing health, she was an active member of the Women’s Missionary Union.  She established in the local nursing homes, a program of honoring those on their birthdays and a ministry of the “Christmas Shopping Spree”, which both continue today.  She provided a “Widow’s Luncheon” for the widows of the area once a year and at times, there were as many as 30 widows attending the luncheon.  She also coordinated delivering Thanksgiving baskets to the shut-ins in the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Violet G. Mangrem; husband, Floyd A. Taylor, Sr; son, Milburn A. (Mat) Taylor; granddaughter, Amy Morrison Fry; grandson, Aaron H. Taylor; great granddaughter, Kayla J. Taylor; and a brother, George Mangrem.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith Taylor Morrison of Clarksville, TN; son, Floyd (F. A.) Taylor, Jr. and wife, Louella of Copperas Cove; nine grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
