City Pool Opening & Hours; Summer Reading Program;

City Pools Hours & Admission

Çity Park pool opens for the season on Saturday, June 6, at 50% capacity, a maximum of 125 patrons per session. City Park Pool will be open through August 9 Tuesday through Sunday, closed on Mondays. Weekday morning session hours 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., afternoon session hours 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Family swim hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Weekend hours for the City Park Pool are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the morning session and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the afternoon session. South Park pool, with a 50% capacity of 60, opens for the season on Monday, June 8, and will be open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The weekday morning session hours are 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. while afternoon session is open 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The South Park Pool will be closed on Tuesdays. For residents 49 and under, admission is $1.75 per person per session. For seniors ages 50 to 64, the cost is $1.25 per person per session. Family season passes remain the same price at $85 for a family of four, and individual season passes are $50. Admission is free for children under 2 and for seniors 65 and older. This season the pools are open for Copperas Cove residents only and identification must be presented for entry.

 

Library Summer Reading Program

The Copperas Cove Public Library is now registering for its annual Summer Reading Program, which will run from June 16 through August 13. This year’s theme is “Imagine Your Story” and programs will be held at no cost. Programs will be held in small groups and online, with preregistration required. The program is open for children ages 1-15. There will also be a “Hero Camp” on Tuesday nights for older readers ages 11-15 to include ceramics, armor making, and leather work. CCISD Summer Feeding Program

The Copperas Cove Independent School District is offering breakfast and lunch meal pickup starting Monday, June 8. Meals will be available for pickup at Copperas Cove Junior High School and Fairview/Miss Jewell Elementary. Both breakfast and lunch may be picked up from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. each day with weekend meals and Monday breakfast picked up on Fridays.

 

CCGOP conventions

The Coryell County Republican Party will hold precinct conventions on Saturday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at the Republican headquarters located at 2603 S State HW 36, Gatesville. The County Convention is set for Saturday, June 13, at 11 a.m., also at the Republican headquarters. The GOP State Convention is set for July 16-18. This will be an open meeting but our agenda will be fixed to statutory duties outlined in the Texas election code and RPT rules.
