Hiding stuff

By Renae Brumbaugh

I’ve sold my house. Which is a relief, because now that it’s sold, I don’t have to keep it so clean. I mean, really! It’s amazing how much I enjoy my messy rooms now. Never again will I lament the unmade beds or dirty laundry. After a few months of having to keep everything spotless, I’m enjoying the break. Not that everything was perfect when the realtors showed my house. I’m just a really good hider. I hid my dirty laundry in the dryer and my dirty dishes in the oven, in hopes nobody would look those places. I tossed bedroom clutter in suitcases and tote bags. I even hid my son’s school papers in the bottom of his laundry basket.
