Coryell 4-H Members Excel at Texas 4-H Roundup

Members of the Coryell County 4-H participated at Texas 4-H Roundup in Bryan-College Station, Texas, the first full week of June. Texas 4-H Roundup welcomed around 2,500 senior level, or high-school-aged, youth to compete in approximately 50 diverse competitions, educational workshops, career learning opportunities, networking and more throughout the week. The contests included both qualifying events, where 4-H members qualified at their county and district contests to compete at the state level, and invitational events. Additionally, the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation awarded over $2.8 million in scholarships to 220 youth. $40,000 was awarded to youth in Coryell County. The week culminated with an outstanding concert in Reed Arena by Aaron Watson.

A special thanks goes out to all of our Coryell County 4-H Adult Leaders who helped prepare youth by coaching teams and chaperoning the event! Consumer Decision Making is coached by Lori Wolff. Photography Judging is coached by Tracy Coursey and Candace Lusk. Livestock Quiz Bowl, Grass Identification, and Range Evaluation are coached by Becky Coward. Livestock Judging is coached by Brad Mabry and Kyle Coward. Ned Roehrig, Cassie Conley, and Chyla Mabry served as adult chaperones. Agents Coward, Robert Ferguson, and Donna Schwausch also attended.
