Copperas Cove is one of the locations for the annual Governor’s Small Business Summit, set for Thursday, July 23.
The summit will be held from 8 a.m. Until 2 p.m. at the Copperas Cove Civic Center, located at 1206 W. Avenue B.
The cost is $20 and includes access to all sessions, lunch and headshots.
Registration is continuing at www.gov.texas.gov/events.
The summit includes a resource fair and networking hour, with opening remarks starting at 9 a.m. From 9:45 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. will be sessions, speakers, and lunch.
During last week’s meeting of the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation’s board of directors, Sean Stevens, Assisant Executive Director of the CCEDC told the board that the Governor’s Office is in the process of finalizing panel speakers and keynotes.
“There will be three panels, one on business finance, one on AI digital marketing, and one on lifestyle business versus scaling up and growing your business,” Stevens said. “We will have panelists of businesses who are on both sides of that. Our event is veteran based, and so the keynote will likely be a veteran.”
Stevens said the agenda should be completed by June 25, and that as of May 29, there were 64 registrants already.
“They said we are on a good pace (for registration). Just to give a comparison, there was an event in Tyler, and they had about 140 registrants total for that event.”
The Governor’s Small Business Summits aim to help Texas small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with resources and information needed to start, strengthen and grow a business.
The Governor’s Small Business Summit is being hosted in partnership with the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corporation and Texas Workforce Commission.
Other host cities include Mission, Tyler, Laredo, Pflugerville, Pasadena, Graham, Midland, Nacogdoches, Brewster County, Dalhart, El Campo, and Midlothian.
