Copperas Cove Junior High sixth grade teachers Gene Turner and Jennifer Wills received their just desserts for raising the most funds during the campus’ United Way campaign. The campus raised more than $4,000. United Way Worldwide is the leadership and support organization for the network of nearly 1,800 community-based United Ways in 41 countries and territories. It envisions a world where all individuals and families achieve their human potential through education, income stability and healthy lives. “This was a good week for me,” said Thomas Mudd. “I was named student of the week and I got to pie my teacher. I feel proud to be named student of the week and to get to participate in this in front of the whole school.”
