Coryell County resident Scott Weddle is running for County Commissioner for Precinct 2 and may not be a lifelong resident, but the native Texan said he and wife, Kristin, “got here as fast as we could.”
Originally from Humble, Texas, Weddle received a bachelor’s of business administration in finance.
“I decided to run because I want to be a part of positive change in Coryell. I have been honored and overwhelmed by the positive response of the voters in Coryell County and that keeps me energized every day getting my message out,” Weddle said. “I am very confident that with my extensive business background and skill set, I can do the job of commissioner and serve the people of Coryell.”
Weddle says he will bring new ideas, negotiation skills, great listening skills, and the ability to manage a balanced budget.
“I have succeeded because of my ability to listen to people and come up with solutions that are ‘win- win’ for all parties. I have worked for billion dollar global companies and large family owned businesses working alongside presidents and owners. I managed 50-plus employees, and I was responsible for hiring, marketing, budgeting and profit and loss statements,” Weddle said. Along with his wife, the two owned a senior homecare business for 13 years, where they used her passion for taking care of her seniors and his passion for numbers.
“I understand the daily grind of the small business owner and that all they want is to service their customers, provide for their families and they don’t need government to get in their way.    ”
“You won’t hear me make many campaign promises except that I will base all of my decisions on what is moral and ethical. I believe that ‘the majority rules’ and I will listen to the voices of my neighbors of Coryell County and especially Precinct 2 before I make decisions that impact you.”
