Pair of candidate forums set for this week
Two candidate forums, one for county level race and one for a state level race, are set for this week.
The Coryell County Republican Party is hosting a forum for the Texas House of Representatives District 59 race on Thursday at evening.
Incumbent J.D. Sheffield and challenger Chris Evans will meet at the Gatesville City Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. The auditorium is located at 110 N. 8th St. in Gatesville.
Then on Friday evening, the six candidates for the position of Coryell County judge will square off at a forum in Copperas Cove at 6:30 p.m.
The forum will be held in the Coryell County Justice Center, located at 210 S. 1st St. in Copperas Cove.
Roger Miller, Janice Gray, Alan Mathis, Allen Avery, Bob Harrell, John Derrick are running for county judge.
Early voting for the March 6 primary begins on February 20.
