Best of Cove winners announced

The results are in, and the Best of Cove winners for 2018 are now official. 
The Best of Cove insert is included in today’s publication and features tri-county winners in a nearly 200 different categories that highlight the businesses and individuals at businesses in Coryell, Bell and Lampasas counties.
Voting for the Best of Cove opened in October 2017 and continued through January 10, 2018 with more than 1,000 ballots returned to the Leader-Press office. 
More than 175 categories were submitted to the Leader-Press, with about 100,000 total votes cast.
“This is always an exciting time of year as the readers have an opportunity to interact with area businesses through the newspaper and name who they feel are best in the tri-county area,” Publisher David Morris said. “Each year there are a few upsets and new businesses named by our readers. Our staff had a fun filled two weeks as they passed out certificates for the businesses to display.”
Bandit’s Barbecue made the list this year for best Brisket a category previously held by Grill Daddy’s. Lisa Kubala repeats along with Lee Letzer in best Attorney and Best Photographer resepectively.  Alan Horn was tabbed as the best Investments with Edward Jones.  Grill Daddy’s claimed best hamburger, previously held by Lil Tex Family Restaurant.
Kletus Rack room claimed the title as the coldest beer while, previously held by Applebee’s.  Applebees waitress Crystal Evans was selected by the readers as the best waitress in the tri-county area.  
Ballots will return in October of 2018 for the Best of 2019.
