Man sought in convenience store armed robbery

Corey Latrell Southard is being sought by Copperas Cove police in conjunction with a March 20 robbery of the Copperas Hills Food Mart. 

Southard is a 22-year-old black male, weighing 162 pounds and is 5-feet, 10-inches tall, as described in a poster released on Friday by the Copperas Cove Police Department. 

At 9:33 p.m. on March 20, Copperas Cove police responded to a report of a robbery at the convenience store, located at 107 W. Ave. E. Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. 

The suspect was described at that time as a black male wearing a red hoodie sweat shirt, grey sweatpants, black mask partially covering his face, and black tennis shoes. 

The subject left through the front entrance with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. 

The store’s employee, a 32-year-old female, was not physically injured during the incident. One photo was taken from the store camera in Copperas Cove. 

The Copperas Cove Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident and welcomes tips made anonymously through the Copperas Cove Crime Stoppers tip number (254)547-1111 or (254) 547-8222.
