The eighth annual GeekFest opens this Friday, August 18 on the campus of Central Texas College. The weekend-long event features several gaming tournaments, cosplay demonstrations, workshops, costume contest, tabletop gaming, a film festival and other activities.

CTC to hold annual Spring Fashion show

The Central Texas College (CTC) Foundation will host its ninth annual Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon on Friday, April 7 at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center. Co-sponsored by Metroplex Health System and Seton Medical Center, the event will benefit the CTC Department of Nursing and Allied Health scholarship program.

VFW to hold elections

Alzheimer’s Texas Lunch N’ Learn

Alzheimer’s Texas will host an educational Lunch N’ Learn in Copperas Cove on Friday, April 21, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 101 W. Avenue F.

Steve Catoe, Positive Approach to Care, Validation Therapy Trainer, and Alzheimer’s Texas Education Specialist, will present tips and strategies for effective communication with persons with dementia.
