Taking Strides

Young Dawgs show maturity and poise despite going 2-3 at Texas 7on7 Championships

COLLEGE STATION – The last time Copperas Cove made an appearance at the Texas 7on7 Championships they came way disappointed with a 1-3 record and early exit despite having one of the top passing quarterbacks in the state at the helm in Division I signee Manny Harris.

This year the Dawgs were relying on an unproven rookie quarterback preparing for his first season as the starter for the Dawgs.

Incoming junior Jaylen Smith didn’t disappoint as he put his team in position to win all three pool play games on Friday.
