Lady Dawgs win Connally meet in final event

Continuing to improve weekly, the Copperas Cove Lady Dawgs claimed their first team championship of the year Friday in the Connally High School meet earning 87.5 points. Host Connally finished second with 84 points, Taylor with 80, Fairfield and Waco University with 64 and Waco Robinson with 60.5 points after 17 events were completed. “Our field events are getting better and we are experimenting trying to find the best relay combinations before district,” Lady Dawgs coach Vance McAnally said.
