KILLEEN – The AquaDawgs boys’ swim team traded in last year’s silver and bronze medals for two gold and two silver medals during this year’s District 10-6A Swim Meet held at the Clements Boys and Girls Club natatorium.

A pair of newcomers to the AquaDawgs led the way with a pair of gold medals to kick off a stellar day for the Copperas Cove boys.

Senior Joseph Hotz claimed a silver medal for the Dawgs in the 50-tard freestyle at last year’s meet and junior Carson McVeigh bested that this year with a gold medal in just his second year as a swimmer just minutes after newcomer. McVeigh beat Midway junior Ethan Alford by a half a second to claim the gold with a time of 23.50. That was nearly a second faster than Hotz time last year of 24.41.
