Eight teams are still vying for two title spots in the Copperas Cove Youth Football League after Saturday’s round one playoff action. In Division I action, the Lions (2-5) edged out the Cowboys (2-5) 18-11 in Game 1 to move on to this Saturday’s semifinal round against the Longhorns (6-0), who enjoyed a bye on Saturday. The Eagles (5-2) shutout the Seahawks (1-6) 27-0 in the second game of Saturday’s playoff doubleheader to advance to the semi-finals. The Eagles will face the 49ers (4-2) on Saturday to determine the other finalist. The Lions/Longhorn matchup is set for 9 a.m. Saturday at the Avenue E sports complex. The Eagles/49ers game will follow.
