By DAVID MORRIS

The Copperas Cove Bulldawgs have improved their record to 6-3-1 following a weekend of action in the Shoemaker Grey Wolves tournament where they posted wins in three of four games splitting time between Harker Heights High School and Shoemaker High School. Beginning pool play on Thursday, the Dawgs dropped their opening contest 13-0 to Austin High School in a five inning affair with Adrian Oviedo taking the start for the Dawgs pitching 2.1 innings and giving up 10 runs on six hits while walking four and striking  out one. Josh Riffel replaced Oviedo on the mound and worked the remaining 2.2 innings of play in the run ruled decision. Riffel allowed three runs on four hits.
