Dawgs put together complete game in win over Knights

By TJ MAXWELL

The Bulldawg defense pitched a shutout and gave up just 213 yards of total offense to the Knights while the Cove offense piled on 540 yards of offense, including 351 rush yards, on their way to a convincing 41-7 playoff-clinching victory over the Knights on Friday. The 40 seniors on the squad were serenaded with their school song one last victorious time at Bulldawgs Stadium. “This class is a special class,” said head coach Jack Welch. “They work together so well. They’ve had success together and they’ve bonded together. They want to be really good. They also know they’re not the biggest King Kong cats of 6A football so they’ve got to be together.” Seniors Jaylen Waters, Tyrell Thompson Trent Canion, Jace Leimbach and Manny Harris wanted to make the most of their final game in front of the home crowd and they did just that.
