Dawg Tennis falls to 7-6

By TJ MAXWELL

After jumping out to a strong start, winning four of their first five matches, the Copperas Cove tennis team ran into some tough competition during a busy week of action. The team lost five of eight matches to fall to 7-6 on the season. “Overall for the week I am happy with our progress,” said head tennis coach Paul Talbett. “We went 3-5 against tough competition. Considering we played 8 matches in 4 days we came out strong out the end, and it was obvious in the last determining matches on the court who was more fit, and who had the heart to fight it out. This week was about us finding heart and fighting through tough situations with a young team, and we improved as the week progressed.”
