Cove P&R has plenty for the active lifestyle

By TJ MAXWELL

Just because the high school sports season has come to a close doesn’t mean sports enthusiasts and fans should hang their heads and resign to their air-conditioned abodes. The Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation summer season is just beginning to sizzle. Youth softball and baseball are currently underway with the playoff season rapidly approaching with the first playoff games set for June 9. Youth track and field summer program also begins on June 9 with the first meet set for 5 p.m. at Bulldawg Stadium. Registration ends June 6. The TAAF fees are $7 per athlete and the circuit meet fee is $5. The regional track meet will be held the first weekend of July with a cost of $7 per event. The Games of Texas State Meet will be held on the third weekend of July in College Station. Athletes must qualify for the meet.
