Cove cross country kicks off at Temple Invitational

TEMPLE – Then freshman phenom Amber Boyd splashed on the scene last year and earned a spot on both the cross country and track varsity teams. Boyd kicked off her sophomore year impressively as well with a second place finish at the Temple Invitational cross country meet on Friday. She raced past Temple’s Ashley Raynard in the final 100 yards to claim the second place finish with a time of 20 minutes, 43.1 seconds, 0.1 second faster that Raynard at 20:43.2. Waco’s Melissa Gonzalez took first place with a time of 20:29.1 in the threemile course through Temple Lions Park.
