12U Royals pitcher Colby Jost sends an offering towards home plate during their championship game against the Rangers on Thursday at Copperas Cove City Park.

Cove City League Champs crowned

District/State qualifiers determined

Mother Nature couldn’t stop the Copperas Cove city league youth baseball and softball championships from determining champions this past week. Dark skies cast an ominous cloud over the 2014 tournament but even tornadoes and damaging storms couldn’t keep the teams from concluding their seasons, although it caused some to conclude three days later and others to be called early. With storm clouds approaching the Copperas Cove City Park baseball complex on Thursday, the 12-under Royals and Rangers were determined to see a champion crowned. It didn’t take that long for the outcome to be determined either.
